Owners Terry, Dan, Mike and John Shipp knew the value of local history when they opened the Roadhouse Boulder Depot in the winter of 2015. They opened the Roadhouse Boulder Depot in the former train station depot, and the historical roots of the building were incorporated into every foot of the restaurant’s décor. The owners’ dedication went beyond mere appearances, however, as is clear in the eatery’s quality burgers. With selections that run the gamut from the traditional locally raised and hormone-free beef patties to turkey burgers, grilled chicken sandwiches and veggie burgers, the restaurant offers a menu that combines gourmet ingredients with down-home culinary comforts. Tasty add-ons like crispy duck cheese curds and roasted red peppers only add to the flavor. The burger menu alone is worth a trip to the historic depot, and it represents the founders’ philosophy of combining a quality “roadhouse” menu with an emphasis on customer service, community and freshness.
